So, I go to this shooting range at a private club outside Los Angeles… Real guns, real bullets, all real. Too real. Every shotgun sound around me made me twitch. Every single time. Welcome to the Wild Wild West, I ventured. Just a thought that these real bullets could kill someone or kill me resulted in me being very, very iffy and afraid. And very respectful of these iron “toys” too.
But I can’t refuse an interesting experience; we all know that by now, right…
A couple of first targets were a total miss. Then the moment I pictured an ex as a target, I hit a bulls eye! Talk about fun…
I looked around the boy club I was in, and wondered why is America so lenient when it comes to owning guns.
I agree that anyone who wants to own a gun should be able to own a gun, for the home protection or to have fun at the shooting range. However, there ought to be some kind of test you have to pass in order to be able to buy a gun. Almost like an IQ test or psychological test or combination test to see if you are really suited for that. Speaking of tests, there should also be a test for parents before they can be allowed to have kids…. There are certain things in life that can have a negative influence on other people. Lots of guns should not be in hands of people who own them. We should have to prove ourselves to be qualified to have kids, or be allowed to have an option of owning a gun, just like we have to prove that we can drive a car, another possible weapon.
I learned that in certain states like the typical Cowboy states almost anyone can purchase an assault rifle, or military hardware… In some states it’s much harder to own these things. In some you take a test that takes less than five-ten minutes, which is less time than it takes to prove that you can drive a car.
Dear America, the fact that it doesn’t take any training to buy lethal weapon here and that punishments for being an illegal gun owner are not very tough are beyond comprehension.
